FAQ

Electric boat trips

What can you see on your walk?

You can discover charming landscapes, historic sites and enjoy a peaceful moment on the water. Choose the duration that suits you and let yourself be carried away by the beauty of the Sarthe.

  • 1 hour: Discover the Plantagenet City, a unique historic site, on a trip up the river. You’ll pass along the Gallo-Roman wall and the gardens along the quays.
  • 2 hours: Heading downstream, you’ll pass the Planches lock before reaching the Moulin de Saint Georges. From here, turn around and return to admire the Plantagenet town. A great opportunity to enjoy nature and discover the city from another angle.
  • 3 hours: The adventure continues as you pass through two locks and head deeper into the peaceful countryside of the Sarthe. You’ll have the chance to explore the countryside before returning to admire the Plantagenet town once again, a blend of nature and heritage.
  • 4 hours: Travel even further along the Sarthe and reach the Chaoué lock, a charming spot that has won awards for its flower lock for over 20 years. This is a relaxing walk, where you can observe the flora and fauna while enjoying the tranquillity of the surroundings.

A leaflet entitled “La Sarthe au fil de l’histoire” (“The Sarthe through history”) outlining the remarkable sites is available before you set off.

Can I go through a lock alone?

A minimum of two able-bodied adults must be on board the boat to pass through a lock.

Is it possible to make a stopover during the walk?

For safety reasons, it is forbidden to dock on the banks during your ride, nor to stand up while sailing, get off or jump off while the boat is in operation.

Before you set off, you’ll be given a map of the route with all the remarkable sites and lock crossings, as well as a leaflet entitled “La Sarthe au fil de l’histoire” (The Sarthe through history).

Our teams will explain the safety instructions, how to handle the boat and how to pass through the locks.
